Permanent make-up, also known as micro-pigmentation, has grown in popularity and is the make-up of choice of the 21st century. Permanent cosmetic make-up is a process where pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin, to enhance your natural appearance permanently. Although technicians may vary, the results are always the same—permanent waterproof color, which is hassle free, always fresh and will not smudge or wear off! Ask Jacqueline about permanent cosmetics and how it may suit you!

What to expect

Your needs and expectations will be discussed during a consultation which includes a review of your medical history and before and aftercare instructions.

Although everyone's tolerance level is different, most clients agree permanent cosmetic make-up procedures are far more comfortable than anticipated. Your comfort and safety are of the utmost importance.
Strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines are followed in accordance with OSHA and CDC requirements. Single use sterile needles are used with each application.

You will be scheduled for one follow-up visit to do any touch-up work and to ensure your procedure meets your expectations.

Eyebrows

Anyone who desires more fullness of the brows will love this procedure and the time saved not applying make-up. Micro-pigmentations for eyebrows can mimic the appearance of the hair in the brow line. Those who used to apply pencil can go swimming, play tennis, run, or wipe their forehead without the concern or embarrassment of losing their eyebrows. Alopecia sufferers are pleasantly surprised at how natural it looks.

This procedure helps prevent lipstick from bleeding into the surrounding skin. It can change the size and shape of the lips as well as the color. Lip color can be applied in a natural soft pink hue or in a more vivid color for a dramatic look. You can wear it alone or apply different shades of lipstick over your permanent color. Either way you will find the color lasts all day.

Before you consider permanent cosmetics it is important to do your research and make sure:

1. Your permanent makeup artist has an environmental health permit.  Many places advertise permanent makeup but do not have an environmental health permit.  Most likely they are not following important environmental safety guidelines and are not practicing legally.  If they do not wish to practice legally and are not honest with you, knowing they need a permit, how safe do you think there facility really is?

For your safety call the Environmental Health Department at: (919) 245- 2360  to make sure your permanent makeup artist is in an environmentally accredited facility.

2. Look at before and after photographs.

3. Ask how many procedures your permanent makeup artist does in one month.

4. Does your permanent make up artist follow strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines? Are they in accordance with center disease control (CDC)?
